Israel hat EU-Projekte im Wert von 74 Millionen Dollar zerstört - Charlotte Silver - 05.06.2016 - Ein landwirtschaftliches Projekt im Jordantal für 11 Mio Dollar, ein Spielplatz bei Nablus für 6.100 Dollar und eine Grundschule für eine Beduinengemeinschaft in Ost-Jerusalem: alle wurden von Israel zerstört. Das sind nur ein paar Beispiele für die wenigstens 150 von der EU finanzierten Strukturen in der besetzten Westbank, die Israel 2016 in den ersten drei Monaten zerstört hat. Israel hat nach einem Bericht von Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor oder Euro-Med in diesen Monaten mehr Wohnhäuser, Geschäfte und öffentliche Infrastruktur zerstört als 2015. Jeden Monat wurden durchschnittlich 165 privat oder international finanzierte Strukturen zerstört oer teilweise zerstört, das ist ein mehr als das Dreifache der 50 Zerstörungen pro Monat zwischen 2012 und 2015. Mehr als 900 Palästinenser wurden laut UN-Statistiken obdachlos gemacht und die Einkommensquellen von weiteren tausenden wurden durch die Zerstörungswelle beeinträchtigt. Euro-Med sagt, der UN-Koordinator für den Nahost-Friedensprozess, Robert Piper, weise darauf hin, der Anstieg bei den Zerstörungen sei eine Reaktion auf die Eskalation der gewalttätigen Konfrontationen zwischen Palästinensern und dem israelischem Militär, die im Oktober 2015 begann. Aber der israelische Politiker Moti Yogev, der auf die israelischen Besatzungskräfte Druck ausgeübt hatte, damit sie die Zerstörungen hochfahren, sagte: "Ich zweifle nicht, dass die harte Haltung der Regierung zum Teil ein Resultat der einseitigen EU-Maßnahmen ist", wobei er sich auf die Entscheidung der EU für die Kennzeichnung von Siedlungsprodukten im letzten Jahr bezieht. Wenn dem so ist, können die Zerstörungen mit den "price tag"-Anschlägen auf Palästinenser und ihr Eigentum verglichen werden, die von Siedlern als eine Form von Rache verübt für eine Politik werden, die ihnen nicht gefällt. One Palestinian child has been killed by Israel every 3 days for the past 13 years - Official statistics from the Ministry of Information in Ramallah have revealed that 1,518 Palestinian children were killed by Israel’s occupation forces from the outbreak of the second Intifada in September 2000 up to April 2013. That’s the equivalent of one Palestinian child killed by Israel every 3 days for almost 13 years. The ministry added that the number of children injured by the Israelis since the start of the Second Intifada against Israel’s occupation has now reached 6,000. “The International Day for the Protection of Children is on June 1,” said a spokesman, “but Palestinian children are still subject to attacks by the Israelis and Jewish settlers on an almost daily basis.” Noting that 2012 saw an unprecedented rise in the number of children arrested by Israeli forces, the report pointed out that 9,000 Palestinians under 18 years old have been arrested since the end of September 2000. Almost half of the Palestinian population is under 18. Almost two hundred and fifty Palestinian minors are being held in prison by Israel; 47 of them are children under 16 years of age. >>>
Kampagne #3: Stop the Wall! - Bündnis für die Beendigung der israelischen Besatzung - Seit 49 Jahren* leben etwa 2,5 Millionen Palästinenser im Westjordanland unter israelischer Besatzung. Weltweit geht keine militärische Besatzung mit so zahlreichen völkerrechtswidrigen Handlungen seitens des Besatzerstaates einher. Neben militärischer Willkür, Straßensperren, Enteignungen, Hauszerstörungen, Einschränkung der Bewegungs- und Reisefreiheit, Diktat von Versorgungsstrukturen, Ressourcenraub und vielem mehr, was die Palästinenser erleiden müssen, hat Israel auf ihrem eigenen Gebiet eine Mauer gebaut. Vor 14 Jahren begann der Bau dieser Mauer, die angeblich als „Sicherheitszaun“ Israel vom Westjordanland trennen sollte. Die Mauer hat eine Länge von über 750 km, verläuft nicht auf der Grenze zwischen Israel und Westjordanland, sondern windet sich auf palästinensischem Gebiet um und durch Häuser und Gärten hindurch, ist stellenweise bis zu acht Metern hoch und von Stacheldraht, Kameras, Sperrstreifen und Wachtürmen gesäumt. Tore und Checkpoints sind eingebaut, durch die israelische Siedler bequem zwischen ihrer Arbeit und ihren Häusern pendeln können. Palästinenser sind strengen Kontrollen unterworfen, müssen oft stundenlang in Warteschlangen ausharren und werden oftmals trotzdem nicht durchgelassen. Die Mauer dient Israel vor allem zur Landkonfiszierung und zur Kontrolle. Der Sicherheitsaspekt hat sich als irrelevant erwiesen: Allein die Tatsache, dass jährlich etwa 15.000 palästinensische Arbeiter ohne Passierschein nach Israel einsickern, ohne Attentate zu verüben, zeigt, dass die Mauer überwindbar ist und somit keinem Sicherheitszweck dient. Abgesehen von den geografischen, politischen und ökologischen Folgen ist der Mauerbau auch historisch betrachtet zerstörerisch. 2003 entschied die Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen mit überwältigender Mehrheit, dass der Bau der Mauer völkerrechtswidrig ist. Der Internationale Gerichtshof bestätigte 2004 in einem Gutachten, dass Siedlungen und Mauerbau gegen die Vierte Genfer Konvention (Schutz von Zivilisten) verstoßen, soweit die Sperranlage auf palästinensischem Gebiet errichtet wurde. Politische Spaltung von Gaza - Palästinenser fordern Beendung der Probleme. - Im Gaza Streifen sind dutzende Palästinenser aus Protest gegen die politische Spaltung des Gaza Streifens auf die Straßen gegangen. Die Demonstranten forderten in ihren Parolen die Beendung der Probleme im Gaza Streifen sowie der politischen Spaltung im Land. Der Protestmarsch wurde auf Appell der palästinensischen Befreiungsorganisation gestartet. Die Kundgebung begann auf der Straße der Al Kassam Brigaden und endete am Denkmal des unbekannten Soldaten. Construction of EU-funded seawater desalination plant nearing completion in Gaza - Top officials from the United Nations and the European Union traveled to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday to visit a seawater desalination plant under construction in the besieged coastal enclave. EU Commissioner of European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn visited the EU-funded plant located in the central Gaza Strip district of Deir al-Balah. The plant is to be the largest of its kind in the Gaza Strip. UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolay Mladenov also reportedly visited the plant during a two-day visit to the Palestinian territory. According to an EU press release, the EU has invested 10 million euros in the current phase of the plant that is nearing completion, and is to invest 10 million euros further toward the second phase, which is expected to be completed within 36 months. Knesset: Racist “Emergency Provision” on Family Unification Law Extended for 13th Year - The Israeli Parliament of the Knesset voted, on Monday evening, to re-extend Israel’s “Citizenship and Entry into Israel” provision, which prohibits Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip from automatically obtaining legal status in Israel or annexed East Jerusalem by way of family unions. The law was passed 65 in favor, 14 against, according to press release published by the Knesset, on Tuesday. The “emergency” provision to Israel’s Family Reunification Law, which grants automatic legal status to non-Israelis who marry Israeli citizens or residents, was first enacted in 2002 during the political upheavals of the second Palestinian intifada, and was adopted into Israeli law in 2003.
