Israeli minister: Donald Trump's win means the Palestinians will never have their own state - Donald Trump's election victory means the Palestinian people will never have a state of their own, a Right-wing Israeli government minister has said as he hailed the demise of a "two-state solution" in the Middle East. Naftali Bennett, Israel's education minister, is a champion of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and released a statement within hours of Mr Trump's win declaring: "The era of a Palestinian state is over." >>>

‘Just in case he wins…’: Royal Jordanian takes jab at Trump’s ‘Muslim ban’ in Election Day advertisement Middle East -  Allison Deger - Jordan’s national airline carrier has posted an advertisement that takes a jab at presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims by offering an Election Day sale of fares to locations in the United States while Muslims are still let into the country. “Just in case he wins…Travel to the US while you’re still allowed to!” the advertisement on Royal Jordanian’s Facebook account said. Flights to Chicago, Detroit, and New York are listed for around $1000 for round trip fares. Responses to the politically charged tagline on social media were mixed. Some cheered on >>>

Some big Jewish donors to Clinton don’t seem to care about Israel. Hallelujah US Politics - Philip Weiss - This election has seen a franker discussion of the power of Jewish donors inside the Democratic Party than ever before. Jeffrey Goldberg said in October “what I would delicately call the donor class” of the party is disproportionately Jewish and rightwing on Israel, J.J. Goldberg said in April that 13 of the top 14 Democratic donors are Jewish, and sociologist Steven Cohen said on Sunday that Clinton’s top five donors are all Jewish. Granted, these observations were all made in synagogues. But I believe that the discussion will soon break out in the wider world, and it should. Because it will be good for America, and good for the Jews too. In fact, a discussion of the power of Jewish donors will foster a process we are already seeing inside the Jewish community: open disagreement about Israel. >>>

‘The era of the Palestinian state is over’ — Israeli right celebrates Trump win US Politics - Naftali Bennett, leader of the Jewish Home party, recently boasted that the national-religious camp, though only a tenth of the population, held “leadership positions in all realms in Israel”. Naftali Bennett, leader of the Jewish Home party, recently boasted that the national-religious camp, though only a tenth of the population, held “leadership positions in all realms in Israel”.  We will be keeping tabs here on the Israel/Palestine related news coming out of the staggering election results in the United States last night, with many updates to follow:

Rightwing Jewish leader Naftali Bennett, Israel’s education minister and head of the Jewish Home party, saw unequivocal meaning in the Trump victory: Trump’s victory is a tremendous opportunity for Israel to immediately announce its intention to renege on the idea of establishing Palestine in the heart of the country – a direct blow to our security and the justice of our cause. This is the president-elect’s outlook as it appears in his platform, and that definitely should be our way. Salient, simple and clear. The era of the Palestinian state is over.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published big hopeful hugs statement: “I congratulate Donald Trump on being elected the 45th President of the United States of America. President-elect Trump is a true friend of the State of Israel, and I look forward to working with him to advance security, stability and peace in our region. The ironclad bond between the United States and Israel is rooted in shared values, >>>

Trump's first steps on Israel/Palestine - For starters: Make the $38 billion military aid package dependent on Israeli actions to dismantle the occupation, and recognize the State of Palestine already. - Sam Bahour - (...)  The pro-Israeli lobby is one of the powerhouse lobbies that intrudes in U.S. politics and is driven, illegally, by the interests of a foreign country. For Trump to reach out to king masters in U.S. politics is to be expected given his non-existent political experience and shallow policy capacity. Yet less than 48 hours after announcing his victory, Trump invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to New York for a meeting.

The Israeli prime minister is laughing all the way to the next West Bank hilltop, thinking he is better positioned than ever to impose his right-wing (some Israelis call it fascist) agenda on America. He is correct to think so given the Israeli settler community mobilized to support Trump’s campaign, so all indications would point to Trump embracing illegal settlement building with open arms >>>

Navigating a sustainable path to eco-tourism in Palestine - Palestine Wildlife Society , 10 Nov 2016 - Palestine’s first-ever eco-tourism conference which took place yesterday focus on finding ways to protect Palestine’s unique natural heritage while sustainably tapping its economic and social benefits.

The varying geography and climate are represented by the Mediterranean Sea, the long shoreline of Gaza, the Jerusalem mountains, the eastern slops and the Rift “Jericho and El-Gour” Valley. Within a small area the biodiversity is truly astounding: more than 2,720 plant species “Flora Palaestina” and around 520 bird species reside or migrate through this compact ecological area. Many avian species journey all the way from Africa to Europe through small land bridges in the south and centre of Palestine. In addition, more than 70 species of mammals and thousands of other insects, reptiles and amphibians are represented in this compact but diverse stretch of land. Palestine is a land of immense natural beauty and diversity. However, conflict, climate change and environmental stress has placed Palestine’s natural heritage under enormous threat.

This requires the redoubling of conservation and protection efforts, as encompassed in Palestine’s commitments to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). In this regard, eco-tourism can help conserve Palestine’s unique natural environment while creating economic and social opportunities. “ Palestine Wildlife Society - Birdlife Palestine PWLS is a pioneer in the ecotourism work as they trained around 40 tour guides and community based tour guides and now they are organizing the first ecotourism conference in Palestine. Furthermore, they look forward to initiate a diploma program for teaching ecotourism,” said Imad Atrash Executive Director of the PWLS.

Under the auspices of Palestine’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Rula Ma’ayaa, the first-ever Palestinian Eco-Tourism Conference took place yesteday at the Ush Ghurab Garden in Beit Sahour. "Eco-tourism has a deep impact on the outreach to villages and towns، usually off the traditional tourism track, and is a primordial leverage tool in the vast array of tourism diversification" said Rola Maayah Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. >>>
